Giants' Brandon Jacobs says he's 'never, ever' felt so good entering a season

"Readers have been begging me for good news. They're tired of the injury talk, the Osi Umenyiora saga and any Kevin Boss and/or Steve Smith rehash. They want something to make them feel good about the Giants' season.

Well, here's a little something:

"I've never felt this good coming out of training camp," Brandon Jacobs said today. "Never, ever, ever felt this good."

That's good, right?

Now entering his seventh season, Jacobs believes he's as loose and agile as ever. The reason — in addition to a lack of two-a-days in camp, of course – is he's worked on hip flexibility and strengthening to allow himself to move better on the field.

"Every offseason I do some stuff I've never done before," said Jacobs, who focused more on heavy-weight training early in his career, as opposed to flexibility. "But I think the stuff I did this offseason, as far as a lot of hip strengthening, because that's where my problems were – in my hips, and I couldn't get my knee up and come out of the tackle."
