"This isn't about proving people wrong, repairing a tainted image or auditioning for a future employer.
"It's just all about going out there and playing a game and always staying ready," Eagles quarterback Vince Young said Friday after practice. "Definitely that was one of the (reasons) why they did bring me here, to stay ready and come in and lead guys and keep the same tempo Mike Vick has."
Young ran the first-team offense in practice all week to prepare for Sunday night's game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium while Vick remained sidelined with two broken ribs.
Almost one year has passed since Young's last start with Titans, during which he was benched. Young said Sunday's start is not about redemption.
"It's not about me," he said. "I just want to go out and just lead the guys to victory."
Head coach Andy Reid said Vick hasn't thrown a football since last Sunday's loss, but Reid didn't rule out the Pro Bowl quarterback, who's listed as questionable.
Young has beaten the Giants in both career starts against them, including a 29-10 win last season.
But his resume this season is limited to three snaps and one pass, which was intercepted.
Still, his teammates spoke glowingly of the way Young commanded the offense this week at practice."
