Giancarlo Stanton’s first Yankees at-bat ended anti-climactically.
The slugger worked a full-count walk against Tigers’ lefty Ryan Carpenter. Stanton was hitting second in the Yankees spring training opener, between Jacoby Ellsbury and Greg Bird. Stanton, playing right field, got a nice applause from the home crowd when his turn at-bat was announced.
