Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that Diamondbacks scouting director Ray Montgomery has left the team to accept a position with the Brewers. His new title will be special assistant to the general manager and vice president of amateur scouting. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com writes that an official announcement is expected on Monday.

Montgomery has been in charge of Arizona’s amateur scouting department since October of 2010. He interviewed for the Padres general manager job in July and the the Diamondbacks’ general manager job after Kevin Towers was let go following the season.
