"Charlotte Bobcats captain Gerald Wallace knows how a playoff team looks, acts and sounds.
He didn't play much those first three seasons as a Sacramento King, but he learned about presence. He recognized a trait in those Kings that was good for nearly 60 victories a season.
"Their main thing was, they wanted you down by 30 at halftime," Wallace recalled. "As soon as the ball went up, their goal was to put up as many points as they can, and keep you from scoring."
That's what Wallace doesn't see in the Bobcats: A consistent, insatiable drive to dominate, regardless of the opponent. Wallace can't figure how the same team that beat the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic this month couldn't put away the Toronto Raptors at home Monday."
