John Thompson III is making plans for next season.

And those plans include Josh Smith.

Georgetown's veteran coach told CBSSports.com on Tuesday that he fully expects Smith to be a part of the Hoyas' program next fall and winter.

The 6-10, 350 pound big man only played 13 games last season and was ruled academically ineligible in late January.

"We're expecting Josh to be a part of our program next season," Thompson said on Tuesday. "That hasn't changed and what Josh needs to do hasn't changed. It's all about the conditioning."

Smith averaged 11.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in the games he played for Georgetown last year and would instantly give the Hoyas the type of force they missed in the pivot during Big East play.
