There is a continued buzz around baseball that Gary Denbo, the New York Yankees vice president/player development is likely to join the Miami Marlins in a high-ranking front office role, industry sources tell FanRag Sports.

As FanRag’s Jon Heyman noted in his most recent Inside Baseball column, Denbo has done a strong job leading the Yankees’ farm system, which is one of the best in baseball.

A reunion between Jeter and Denbo in Miami would not be surprising, as one league source noted that the two are “very close.”

It’s interesting and noteworthy that with a potential Denbo addition looming in the Marlins front office, that they signed president of baseball operations Michael Hill to a contract extension two years ago, through 2020.
