Sam Gagner has had at least 40 points in all five of his NHL seasons, but the number he would most like to see on his resume is one. As in one game in the playoffs.
This is a festering sore for the Edmonton Oilers centre.
His buddy and former junior linemate, Patrick Kane, who was drafted first overall in 2007 while Gagner went five spots later, has been in 45 playoff games with the Chicago Blackhawks. He also partied with the Stanley Cup.
Gagner, who has played 350 league games — second only to Kane among players from that draft year, would settle for dreaming of what he'd do with the silver mug, but first he has to get into a playoff game.
Gagner can't wait for the Oilers to return to the playoffs
