R.A. Dickey and Johan Santana set the tone and Dillon Gee picked up the cues on Wednesday night. The righthander turned in a third straight winning performance from a Mets starter, throwing seven scoreless innings before giving up two in the eighth in what would become a 4-3 Mets victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Citi Field.

Gee was stellar during those first seven innings, allowing just one hit and one walk and pushing the Mets' run of scoreless innings to a season-best 29 before it was snapped by Wilson Betemit's two-run homer. It is the third run of at least 20 scoreless innings by the Mets this season, but ended 13 shy of the club record set in 1969.
