Indiana picked up their first 2018 pledge on Sunday, just as the first July evaluation period ended. Four-star Race Thompson is headed to the Hoosiers.

Four-star recruit Race Thompson verbally committed to Indiana on Sunday, according to D1 Minnesota coach Jeremy Miller.

"The coaching staff, they did a great job recruiting him for the short time they were at IU," Miller told Scout. "They made Race a priority and made him feel really wanted."

"The other thing that jumped out to him, was it was evident they have a great fan base and facilities," he added.

Thompson, a 6-foot-7, strongly built power forward, picked the Hoosiers over Iowa State and a host of other high major schools that dabbled with him throughout the recruiting process.
