Former Vanderbilt point guard Kedren Johnson announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he’s transferring to the University of Memphis.

“This isn’t a throwback picture to my Marshall County High School days. This is my future. I’m going to ...,” Johnson tweeted with an Instagram picture of a Memphis Tigers logo.

Johnson, a 6-4 guard, was suspended as a student from Vanderbilt last July and sat out last season for undisclosed reasons, and could be eligible this season for a Memphis team that could use an experienced point guard if he’s granted a waiver to play immediately by the NCAA.
