Former LSU and New Orleans Saints cornerback Randall Gay was arrested early Thursday morning after a disturbance at a Baton Rouge bar, Baton Rouge Police Lt. Don Kelly said Thursday. Police also arrested a woman, Desha Penco, for interfering with the arrest.

Gay, 31, of 1935 Orr Sr., Brusly, was charged with entry or remaining on premises when forbidden, two counts of simple battery, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by public intoxication.

Penco, 33, of 20920 Turkey Creek, Baton Rouge, was charged with interfering with police officer and simple damage to property when she tried to kick out the window of the police car.

Both were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Gay was released at 7:15 a.m. after posting a $1,200 bond. Penco was released at 7 a.m. after posting a $1,000 bond.

Kelly said officers were dispatched to the Bulldog Pub, 4335 Perkins Road, at 1:45 a.m. after reports of a man refusing to leave the business and causing a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were told Gay had refused to leave and put his hands on two employees, Kelly said.

When officers attempted to escort Gay from the bar, he began to struggle and resisted attempts to be handcuffed. He eventually was handcuffed and placed under arrest.
