"Chuck Greenberg has filed the necessary paperwork and has been approved to be a potential owner of the Dallas Stars, the Dallas Business Journal reports.

Greenberg, the former CEO of the Texas Rangers, is reviewing the franchise's financials to decide if he wants to get involved in pursuing ownership of the team, according to report.

The report also says that, in a twist, Greenberg is "kicking the tires" on partnering with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on a bid for the Stars."
