Former Raiders coach interviews for Rams OC job

"On his first full day as Rams head coach, Jeff Fisher continued to zero in on hiring his offensive coordinator. Fisher interviewed Hue Jackson on Wednesday night at a location outside of St. Louis, according to league sources.

Jackson, 46, was recently fired after just one season as head coach of the Oakland Raiders. In 2010, as Oakland's offensive coordinator, the Raiders finished 10th in the NFL in total offense and sixth in points scored.

Prior to that, Jackson worked as quarterbacks coach in Baltimore in 2008 and '09, which were Joe Flacco's first two seasons in the league. Jackson had previous offensive coordinator stints with Atlanta (2007) and Washington (2003) in the NFL, and with Southern California (1997-2000) and California (1996) at the college level.

His background is with power offenses, featuring a strong running game and the play-action pass, which could mesh well with Fisher's philosophy. The only other offensive coordinator candidate known to have interviewed with Fisher is Brian Schottenheimer, who recently parted ways with the New York Jets after six seasons as their coordinator."
