Former UT and NFL running back Ricky Williams was arrested on traffic warrants, as reported by the Austin American-Statesman.

Williams was pulled over on Tuesday in Austin, arrested on warrants, then taken to the Travis County Jail. The Statesman reports that he is no longer in jail.

Williams was a star with the Longhorns where he won the Heisman in 1998.
He played 11 seasons in the NFL, most notably with the Dolphins. He spent seven seasons with the team after being drafted by the Saints and playing three seasons in New Orleans. He was the NFL rushing yards leader in 2002 while with Miami.

He retired for the first time in 2004 before rejoining the Dolphins in 2005. He missed the entire 2007 season due to a suspension for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.
