After being dismissed from the Michigan State basketball team early this month, sophomore Kenny Kaminski has transferred to Ohio University, according to the Athens Messenger.

On his Twitter account, Kaminski said, “Blessed to be here! I love it here already.”

The report also said Kaminski, a native of Medina, Ohio, might pursue a waiver to become eligible immediately.

After redshirting his first season at Michigan State with a shoulder injury, Kaminski had an up-and-down season in 2013-14. He was suspended two different times while also showing flashes as a proficient shooter who could help the Spartans offensively.

Kaminski played in 31 games, averaging 4.9 points and 1.5 rebounds. His 3-point percentage was .494, best in the Big Ten.
