"About 31 miles from where he once caught passes, preened in front of millions and made headlines, former Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens plans to revive his football career.

Owens, 38, announced Wednesday night in a 22-second video linked to his Twitter account that he will join the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League as both a player and a part-owner.

"It's official, Owens said. "It just went down. I'm headed back to Texas. That's right, IFL, here I come."

The 16-team league, which started play in 2009, appears ready to embrace him.

"This is a very exciting event in the history of the Indoor Football League," IFL commissioner Tommy Benizio said on the league's website. "The caliber of player in the IFL has grown to a remarkable level and the addition of Owens is a huge step in continuing on that path.""
