"Former Astros general manager Ed Wade, who was previously the general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, has accepted a scouting position with the Phillies according to reports from Philadelphia-based and national writers.

Wade was fired last month as general manager of the Astros after four years with two more seasons remaining on his contract. He and Tal Smith were immediate employment casualties of the arrival of new owner Jim Crane and CEO/president George Postolos.

Wade offered no comment on his future when reached Monday night."
