Force is with Rodney Stuckey; Pistons win 4th straight

"When you peruse the Pistons-Nets box score this morning, your eyes quickly will notice the 19-point, five-assist, three-rebound night of Rodney Stuckey.

But a more significant line probably was the stat line from Nets standout point guard Deron Williams -- 14 points on 4-for-10 shooting.

Stuckey played a major role in the Pistons' defense of Williams and was a leading factor in the Pistons' fourth straight victory -- a 109-92 blowout on "Star Wars Night" at the Palace on Friday.

And on a night when the Pistons laid a beating on the Nets to rival the beatdown the Galactic Empire laid on the Rebel Alliance at the Battle of Hoth (sorry, couldn't avoid the bad "Star Wars" analogy), it was Stuckey leading the Stormtroopers (oops, there goes another one).

"He did a great job of taking the challenge," coach Lawrence Frank said. "I thought he did a great job at both ends.

"His ability to get in the paint was huge on the offensive end, and our guys have a good rhythm. We have to continue to raise the bar and continue to do better, but they're playing with a good rhythm and a good spirit."

As has been the custom during the winning streak, the Pistons (8-20) made a concerted effort to push the tempo -- taking advantage of a team that dressed only 10 players.

And the tempo suits Stuckey's game."
