"Lightning goaltender Mathieu Garon didn't want to hear it.
He didn't want to hear how much he has meant to the team's season-best five-game winning streak or about an improved goals-against average and save percentage. He certainly didn't want to hear how he is giving the team more of a chance to win.
"When you win, it seems like all the credit goes to the goalie, and when you lose it's the opposite," Garon said. "It all depends on how the team is playing."
Maybe so, but there is no getting around how the goaltending has stepped up lately. Garon leads the way, winning his past four starts with a 2.22 GAA and .918 save percentage.
Dwayne Roloson also played well in his last start, a 33-save win over the Coyotes on Jan. 21."
