"Kerry Rhodes is finally looking like the safety Rex Ryan envisioned in his defense.

But Rhodes still isn't committing to the idea that he is Ryan's safety for years to come. Rhodes said Wednesday he still wants to evaluate everything before commenting about his future as a Jet.

"I am comfortable in my situation now," said Rhodes, who signed a five-year, $33.5 million contract in 2008. "But like I said, we will re-evaluate things after the season. They have given me the vote of confidence that they want me here. But still, you have to put things into perspective after the season and see how it goes."

Rhodes was demoted for two games after failing to make any significant plays or interceptions through his first 10 starts. But since the demotion, Rhodes has three interceptions and had a fumble recovery Sunday night against Cincinnati."
