Flynn, Webster 'ready'

"Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis has said on several occasions this season that he and his staff won't know "who we are as a team" until point guard Jonny Flynn and guard-forward Martell Webster are healthy enough to play.

The Wolves are getting closer to an identity with the probable return of Flynn and Webster for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. Rambis said Flynn and Webster, both sidelined the entire regular season so far because of injuries, will be activated tonight to help the team endure a five-game West Coast road trip.

Rambis, however, declined to say if Flynn and Webster will make their season debut against the Warriors.

"It depends on how they feel after we practice out there," Rambis said of the team's scheduled shoot-around practice this morning. "Both of them looked great at (Monday's) practice. They looked ready to go."

Webster, acquired in a draft-day trade with Portland on June 24, has not played since the exhibition season. He underwent surgery Oct. 27 to repair part of a herniated disc in his lower back. Before the injury, Webster quickly proved his value off the bench by leading the Wolves with a 20.0 scoring average after the first two exhibition games.

Flynn, who started 81 games last season as a rookie, missed all of training camp and the exhibition season to recover from hip surgery July 27 to repair a torn labrum. He played in two NBA Development League games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce as part of his rehab work. Though Rambis was noncommittal Monday about Flynn and Webster, Flynn was optimistic he would play tonight. The possibility had the second-year guard in an upbeat mood after Monday's practice.

"I can't wait to get out there on the court," Flynn said with a big smile. "I'm definitely ready to play. After all the work I've put in, the treatment, staying late to do drills and everything, I'm at the point where I can go out there and not be a burden to the team." "
