Flynn, Webster both may play tonight

"Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis said Monday he expects Jonny Flynn and Martell Webster to be activated for the first time this season Tuesday night at Golden State.

So their returns from surgery -- Flynn from a hip operation in July, Webster from a microdiscectomy on his back --after weeks and months away is here, right?

"I said they might be active," Rambis said. "I didn't say they'd play."

And so it goes for both players ...

Flynn has played two rehab games in the D League and had a third postponed by last weekend's snowstorm. Now, for the first time since he was cleared to begin practicing in late October, he has declared himself fit to play.

"I think I'm at the point now where I can go out and not be a burden," Flynn said after practice Tuesday.

So if he does indeed play, just much can he play?

"I'm not sure, just however long," said Flynn, who played more than 30 minutes for Sioux Falls on Friday night. "I'm not going to tell him to take me out of the game. Whatever minutes he puts for me out there, I'm going to go out and play."

Webster was cleared to play last Tuesday and had hoped to play Friday against Detroit. Rambis said Webster and the team mutually agreed that he'd sit out weekend games against the Pistons and Chicago so he could get two more practices behind him in an attempt to improve his rhythm and timing.

Rambis suggested Webster's minutes will be carefully measured, "more so" than Flynn, who has played those two games in the D League."
