Flynn back practicing but taking things slowly

"Jonny Flynn was back on the court Tuesday, working out lightly with his teammates after getting clearance from his Colorado hip surgeon to start practicing and predicting he will play his first game sometime in mid- to late November.

Flynn's checkup appointment Monday cleared him to practice lightly this week then move on to contact workouts next week.

"Everything healed correctly, but we're still going to take it slow," he said. "This is an injury you have to be cautious with. It's still my body, and I still have to listen to it."

Flynn underwent surgery in July to correct a hip injury that he said bothered him much of last season. A Vail, Colo., surgeon repaired a tear in his labrum (a ring of cartilage) and shaved down bone in the hip joint.

On Tuesday, he dribbled, jogged, took some little jump shots and participated in walkthroughs as his team prepared for Wednesday's season opener against Sacramento.

"I started off the huddle before practice by asking the group, 'Who's the new kid out there?'" Wolves coach Kurt Rambis said. "It's good for him to get out there again.""
