The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Nolan Patrick to an entry-level deal, the team announced Monday.

Patrick was selected by the Flyers with the second-overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. The Winnipeg native underwent abdominal surgery on June 13, and is expected to resume skating next week.

The 18-year-old struggled with injuries in his last season with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings and missed 39 games in 2016-17, but still managed more than a point per game with 20 goals and 46 points in 33 contests.
