After the Flyers lost their ninth straight game Tuesday night, many screamed for sweeping changes beginning with firing the head coach.

On Wednesday afternoon, a change did happen, but it wasn't the one many fans wanted.

The Flyers returned forward Danick Martel to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL) after a four-game NHL audition.

With three days off before the Flyers' next game, Martel simply could be returning to Lehigh Valley for playing time. The Phantoms play Binghamton on Wednesday night and Hershey on Friday night.

It's entirely possible the Flyers plan on recalling Martel before Saturday afternoon. We'll know more then, but for now, Martel returns to the AHL.
