"On the August day that Malcom Floyd and the Chargers agreed to stay together, there was an excitement in the locker room that rarely is exhibited.
This was a piece of the offense the Chargers knew they needed.
Unfortunately, this season confirmed that notion.
Only in December did the Chargers offense become complete, in large part because only then was Floyd entirely healthy.
"I let my team down," Floyd said. "… It's not over yet. But so far, man, I think I underachieved as far as the goals I set. It wasn't my potential."
The reality is something only resembling that.
The reason Floyd not being on the field is so frustrating to all involved is that he was as good as ever in 2011. He was exactly what the Chargers expected him to be and exactly what they worried he might be."
