Jose Theodore is still the No. 1 goalie, but more is expected.

That was the general assessment from Panthers coach Kevin Dineen as his team prepared to open the second half of its season with a first-place showdown against the visiting Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

"Jose is our starter," Dineen said Tuesday. "We can't have success down the stretch without Jose playing good hockey."
