Cantu's hitting streak, which began at the end of last season, is the longest by a Marlin since Kevin Millar's 25-game streak in 2002. The Marlins' record is held by Luis Castillo, who hit safely in 35 consecutive games during the '02 season.

Cantu singled to left off Astros starter Felipe Paulino. The ball rolled under the glove of left fielder Carlos Lee, allowing two runs to score on the play."
