Winger Alex Tanguay didn't suit up for Thursday's clash against the Detroit Red Wings at the Saddledome, the victim of an undisclosed injury suffered in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.

There's a good chance he'll be out for Friday's game as well.

The news seemed to catch everyone off guard.

"I was somewhat surprised after the game," said Flames head coach Brent Sutter. "He's played some of his best hockey here in the last four games for us this year. I was surprised he would be out on a day-to-day basis. We'll just see where it goes."
