This just just in from Oilers announcer Bob Stauffer: “With Nurse out Oilers D: Sekera-Benning Klefbom-Fayne Russell-Larsson.”
The Edmonton Sun’s Rob Tychkowski tweeted: “McLellan said Nurse’s injury is lower body, happened in Winnipeg. And he is out long term.”

In his press conference, coach Todd McLellan said the team would know more about Nurse today or tomorrow and that Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli would provide an update.
My take

That Nurse is out long-term is terrible news for the Oilers and there’s no other way to slice it. Nurse was performing at a high level, playing tough on defence and moving the puck well. He was making better decisions in every zone of the ice and starting to handle tougher minutes well. Against Winnipeg — after Oscar Klefbom was dropped down in the line-up due to his history of defensive miscues — Nurse looked like he might even be ready to step up into a Top 4 role with Adam Larsson as his partner.
