The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will head to William & Mary on Wednesday for the Pride’s final regular season road game of the 2013-14 campaign.

Hofstra will close the regular season at home on Saturday when it hosts James Madison at 7 p.m.

The Pride will look to get back on the winning track and carry some momentum into the conference tournament as they face two of their Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rivals this week.

Hofstra (8-21, 4-10 CAA) was highly competitive in a pair of games last week against the top two teams in the conference. The Pride dropped an 81-77 decision to Delaware on February 22 before suffering an 83-77 setback against Towson on February 26. Graduate forward Zeke Upshaw carried the Pride in the two games as he averaged 29.5 points per game last week, including a 33-point outburst against Towson. The Chicago, IL native earned CAA Co-Player of the Week honors for his spectacular week.

Upshaw is now third in the league in scoring at 19.4 points per outing, while graduate guard Dion Nesmith also ranks in the top ten at number 10 with 13.2 points per game. Upshaw’s 75 three-pointers this season are the seventh-most in a single season, while Nesmith ranks first on the team in assists with 109.

Marcus Thornton leads the Tribe with 19 points per game and has drained 82 shots from beyond the arc. Tim Rusthoven is also in double figures with 12.3 points per game and contributes five caroms per outing. William & Mary has a pair of other players scoring in double figures as Omar Prewitt is third at 11.4 per game and Brandon Britt is fourth with 10.3 points per game.
