"The father of Detroit Lions quarterback Shaun Hill died Saturday following an accidental fall, according to Carson-Wall Funeral Services in Kansas.

Ted Hill died late Saturday afternoon at St. John's Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. He was 60. He was helping his son work on a barn in the area when he fell, according to broadcast media reports.

Ted Hill worked and coached in the Parsons District Schools in Kansas from 1975 until retiring about five years ago. He was principal of Erie High School in Kansas from 2005-08. He most recently was Title III project director for Labette Community College."
