Wayne Dallman is already working on passing down his passion for the Packers to his young son.

“I came when I was a kid to a training camp practice about 20 years ago,” said Dallman, who drove three hours from Thorp for the Packers’ first public Organized Team Activity practice of the spring on Tuesday at Clarke Hinkle Field across the street from Lambeau Field.

“My son is 5 years old now so I thought it would be a good chance to bring him to see the Packers for the first time.”

Tuesday was the first time Packers fans got a chance to see the team on the field since they lost in a divisional NFC playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park last January.

If the weather cooperates, fans also will be able to watch the Packers’ OTA practices on May 28 and June 11, and minicamp practices on June 4-5.

Packers fan Emma Brudnicki is home for the summer from Utah, where she is a student at Brigham Young University. She got to the field a half-hour before practice to get a spot on the fence before the practice started.

“It’s really nice weather and so it’s comfortable to stand out here and watch them, and it looks like they’re comfortable out there practicing,” she said.
