Former Yankees outfielder Chad Curtis whose trial on charges of inappropriately touching teen girls began yesterday reportedly asked one of the alleged victims to pray with him.

The 44-year-old Curtis is accused of multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct. Prosecutors say he touched girls between the ages of 13 and 16 last year when he was a volunteer weight room strength trainer at an area high school.

According to a report on The Grand Rapids Press’ website mlive.com an 18-year-old girl testified yesterday that Curtis asked her to pray with him moments after she said he molested her on Labor Day 2011 when she was 16.

“I didn’t want to say ‘No I don’t want to pray’ ” mlive.com reported the girl said during her testimony. “Prayer is always good.”

The girl who was having a training session with Curtis testified he began to kiss her breast and touch her.

Defense lawyer David Dodge has said Curtis denies any criminal wrongdoing. Curtis faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison if convicted.

He won World Series rings in 1998 and 1999 with the Yankees. He hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Yankees a 6-5 victory over the Braves in Game 3 of the 1999 Series.
