Former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell, who at this point in his non-existent NFL career is one of the biggest draft busts in sports history, is hoping to shed that label.
Yahoo! Sports reports that Russell "is planning a comeback attempt that he hopes will see him play in the league again."
Russell, now 27, has dropped from 320 pounds to 308 pounds, according to Yahoo!, and surrounded himself with former NFL players to help him through the comeback process. Mike Clayton, a former NFL wide receiver who went to LSU like Russell, is serving as a mentor, with ex-49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia and Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk among the others part of Russell's team, according to Yahoo!.
