"A large shadow was cast over the Oakland Raiders, Stanford Cardinal and San Francisco 49ers facilities Wednesday with the news that former Raiders defensive lineman and current Stanford assistant coach Chester McGlockton had died at the age of 42.

The school said that Mr. McGlockton died overnight. The cause of death was not immediately announced.

"It's just a tragic loss. Chester was a dear friend, a teammate, a neighbor, a golf buddy, we coached together at Stanford," Raiders assistant coach and former offensive lineman Steve Wisniewski said. "He had such a big, big heart. He did a phenomenal job over at Stanford coaching.""
