Everton are 'close' to appointing a new manager to replace Ronald Koeman, majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has revealed.

David Unsworth, who has been in caretaker charge since the sacking of Koeman 32 days ago, oversaw a humiliating 5-1 home defeat by Atalanta on Thursday night.

But after holding talks with Sam Allardyce and failing with a big money move for Watford's Marco Silva, Moshiri insists a new man will soon be in place.
