In case you never did turn the television station from the Tigers' rain delays, or from the Michigan football game, the Red Wings did finish off the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night.

The Wings won 3-0, which could be a bit surprising if you happened to catch the early going of Saturday's game amid a busy Detroit sports night.

As expected, the Wings were a bit sluggish early, having played Friday night at home and being forced to travel to Denver for a game the next night.

But with goaltender Ty Conklin starring in his first start in his second go-around with the Wings, and all four lines rolling, the Wings got stronger as the game progressed and completed a sweep of their opening weekend.
