Evans says ankle feels 'a lot better'

"Following Monday's practice at the Verizon Center, Tyreke Evans didn't look as if he was dealing with an ankle injury as he took jump shots and challenged teammates in three-point shooting contests.

Evans is listed as day-to-day after sitting out Sunday's loss in Toronto because of a sprained left ankle.

Kings coach Paul Westphal said Evans is questionable for today's game against the Washington Wizards.

"I feel a lot better," Evans said. "It'll be a game-time decision to see if I go or not. I'll do some stuff before the game, and it'll be up to me to decide on if I go."

Evans did not practice with the team Monday. He spent practice going through drills, testing his ankle.

It's an improvement for Evans, who sprained his ankle in Thursday's victory over Denver and began the six-game trip wearing a walking boot.

"I was just moving laterally," Evans said. "Stuff I would do in a game to see where my balance is at. The swelling went down a little bit."

Westphal said he didn't watch Evans work out because he was busy running practice."
