"Bills receiver Lee Evans responded today in a predictable way to reports some teams may be interested in trading for him.
"I don't really know," Evans said after the walkthrough practice. "Obviously that's something that's out of my control. There's always rumors like that out there so we'll just have to see what happens."
An Arizona radio station reported that the Cardinals have some interest in Evans. That report came after a National Football Post column on Sunday said some teams have been "sniffing around" about acquiring Evans.
The Bills, indeed, have a surplus of recievers, and they added to their corps with the free-agent signing of Brad Smith and the street pickup last week of former Charger Craig Davis. The logjam, and the addition of Davis, lends itself to speculation about the Bills' plans. The Bills' WR depth list: Evans, Stevie Johnson, Roscoe Parrish, David Nelson, Donald Jones, Naaman Roosevelt, Marcus Easley and Davis. ... That doesn't count Smith, who is listed at quarterback. The Bills kept five WRs to open last season but some teams keep six or seven on the roster."
