Evans gets clearance to resume practicing

" Kings guard Tyreke Evans has been cleared to practice and began by doing some shooting Wednesday.

Evans has missed the last 15 games because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot and underwent shock-wave treatments for three weeks. He visited Dr. Richard Ferkel, a foot specialist based in Los Angeles, on Tuesday and received clearance to practice.

The Kings said Evans should be back on the court in one to two weeks.

"We'll take it a small step at a time, and hopefully by the end of next week he'll be able to play in some games in limited minutes and progress from there," coach Paul Westphal said.

With Evans slowly working his way back into form, Westphal said Evans wouldn't necessarily return to the starting lineup.

"My first inclination is that we'll bring him off the bench," Westphal said. "But if for some reason, for example, they say he can play 15 minutes, maybe we'll just start him and let play seven, eight minutes the first half, seven, eight minutes the second half. I'm not really sure. It will depend on what the doctors say."

Westphal is eager to see how Evans meshes with Marcus Thornton and Samuel Dalembert and the improving DeMarcus Cousins.

The coach noted the Kings haven't been healthy all season. Evans' foot had been a problem since the start of the season. Dalembert was slowed by a leg muscle injury during training camp and took some time to find his rhythm in his first season with the Kings."
