Lars Eller scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Canadiens a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Eller, who is 3-for-3 on the season in shootouts, said he used some inside information to beat Ben Bishop on the Canadiens’ opening shot. Said Eller: “I played with him in Peoria so I had an idea what I wanted to do. I wanted to get him moving laterally and then I cut across. I didn’t get the puck as high as I wanted to but it went in.” Carey Price sealed the win by stopping Valtteri Filppula, Nikita Kucherov and Ted Purcell.
