Former University of Oregon small forward E.J. Singler has been offered a training camp contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. As nifty as it is to have an Oregon native on board don’t read too much into it. The Blazers’ roster is full so the best possible outcome for him in all of this is landing with the Idaho Stampede (Portland’s D-League affiliate).

Singler played 4 years at the University of Oregon before going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft. At 6’6” he is a little undersized for an NBA forward and could not make up for it with his middling talent level. If he is able to join the Idaho Stampede instead of electing to play overseas it is possible that the Blazers could call him up in times of injury.
