Eastern Michigan head football coach Chris Creighton is set to be an eagle for a long time.

Creighton, who led the Eagles to a bowl game last season for the first time since 1987, was given a four-year contract extension Tuesday, keeping him in the fold until 2022. The EMU Board of Regents approved the deal at a 10:30 a.m. meeting.

Creighton will earn a base salary of $425,000 - about a 2.5 percent increase from his current deal, which runs until Dec. 31, 2018. Several team performance incentives also are included.
