The Seattle Seahawks announced on Friday that the franchise has ruled out safety Earl Thomas for Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins due to a lingering hamstring injury.

It’s a tough pill to swallow for the Seahawks, who were fortunate enough to come away with a win despite giving up 38 points to the Houston Texans one week ago. Thomas suffered the injury while chasing down Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. But while the ball-hawking safety’s presence will be sorely missed, that could mean more time for Bradley McDougald, a guy the Seahawks signed in the spring, and one they’re extremely high on.
