"The so-called all-hype team added even more pizzazz to its star-studded roster.

Ronnie Brown, the former Dolphins running back who ranks third on Miami's career rushing list, signed a one-year deal Tuesday to back up Eagles halfback LeSean McCoy.

The team also added an insurance policy at right tackle by signing veteran lineman Ryan Harris, who started 34 games in his four-year career with the Broncos.

Harris gives the team options if right tackle Winston Justice isn't ready for the opener and if new offensive line coach Howard Mudd sours on backups King Dunlap and Austin Howard.

Brown, 29, fulfills the team's need for a veteran ball carrier, although the former first-round pick likely sacrificed a more prominent role elsewhere to play third fiddle to McCoy and the Eagles' passing game.

A tough runner with smooth hands out of the backfield and excellent in blitz pick-up, Brown is tailor made for coach Andy Reid's offense and can be another impact weapon if he stays healthy.

He averaged 4.3 yards per carry in his six-year Miami career and caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards. Injuries earlier in his career forced him into a co-starring role for the past three seasons with Ricky Williams.

"Ronnie is an all-around running back with a versatile skill set," Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said in a statement. "He can run the ball, catch it and does very well in pass protection.

"He'll add some good size to our backfield and he's a good character guy. We think he'll be a tremendous complement to LeSean (McCoy) and the other young backs on this team that we really like.""
