"The Eagles signed defensive end Phillip Hunt on Friday to a three-year contract, adding a pass rusher who led the Canadian Football League in sacks last season.
Hunt, 25, had 16 sacks for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last season and had three in 2009. The CFL plays an 18-game season.
He played at the University of Houston but was undrafted. Hunt worked out for the Eagles, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots in December. At 6 feet and 248 pounds, he fits the physical mold the Eagles look for in pass rushers.
One of the most important goals for the Eagles in the off-season is boosting the pass rush, but no NFL players will be available until after a new collective bargaining agreement is worked out.
The Eagles brought in CFL rushing star Martell Mallett last year, but he did not make the team."
