Eagles linebacker Jake Knott has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

"We're very disappointed to learn of his suspension. We have spoken to Jake and he is fully aware of the mistake he made and owned it," the Eagles said in a statement. "The key for him, however, is to learn from that mistake and move forward with his preparation for the 2014 season."

Knott played 12 games and made six tackles last season as an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State. He is allowed to participate in all Eagles offseason activities as well as preseason games.
