"There's no reason for Eagles head coach Andy Reid to rest his starters or give his team a break tonight against the Vikings.
Even though the Eagles clinched the NFC East title on Sunday without playing, they can still improve their playoff seeding by winning their last two games of the season, starting with tonight's make-up game against the Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles clinched the division on Sunday when the Giants lost to Green Bay and currently hold the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, but they can still move into the second seed and secure a first-round bye and home-field advantage for the divisional playoff round.
They're already in a better position than last year and in 2009, when the Eagles made the playoffs as wild cards and played all four postseason games on the road.
Last week, Reid was asked if he had sat down to map out all the different playoff scenarios for his team.
"No, I don't go over all that. I concentrate on what we can take care of, and that's making sure we get ready to play the game and practice and master the game plan," he said. "I don't worry about all that other stuff."
One scenario that seems very likely is the NFC Championship game being played at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, where Eagles quarterback Michael Vick began his career and played his first six seasons after the Falcons chose him No. 1 overall in the 2001 draft."
